Information Security Engineer

 Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
  • Maintain and administer computer systems and networks.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software and other system problems.
  • Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
  • Create and document IT security policies.
  • Create and implement information security awareness training.
  • Research and implement new hardware and software solutions to fit company needs.
  • Assist end users with IT issues, serving as a contact and resource for employees regarding IT issues, questions, and concerns.
  • Investigate and respond to employees’ inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Implement NIST 800-171 controls.
  • Improve processes with the use of technology.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge to support FVMT continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review opportunities in artificial intelligence, robotics and automation.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

 

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business related field with 4 + years of Information Technology experience.  An Associate Degree with 7+ years Information Technology experience or in lieu of either above mentioned degree.
  • 2 + years’ experience in Information/Computer Security desired.
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute performance-based solutions is required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills at various levels within an organization is required.
  • Experience conducting training in one-on-one settings.
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience are a must.
  • Proven experience in analyzing information and providing deductive reasoning; necessary to utilize with critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle significant amount of confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated sound organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow through on verbal instructions is required.
  • Ability to work as a team both within the department and partnering with operations to achieve Company goals.
  • Ability to build appropriate rapport, listen, and develop constructive and effective working relationships using diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to handle fluctuating demands and multiple tasks.
